Sometimes, when I’m playing a game, I enjoy writing fanfic about the experience. Occasionally, this can be fully fleshed out stories with original characters fitted into the game world, like with Elder Scrolls Online or Skyrim. Other times, it’s just narration on a walkthrough, like with Cyberpunk 2077, or expansion onto the journal idea of Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2. For me, as a former actual writer, this is a form of self therapy. I know these stories & fanfic aren’t very good because my brain isn’t very good anymore, but it still somewhat fulfills the inherent desire for some kind of creative outlet.
