V has been working for Arasaka for seven years, the last few in counter intel slowly climbing the ranks, aiming to eventually collect enough cash and rep to rise to a nice posh and much safer position far away from Night City. Her parents, also Arasaka employees, already abandoned their home in Charter Hill over in Westbrook a decade ago. Where they were now, V couldn’t even guess. She hadn’t even had a message from either of them in years. V was born into the corporate world and she guessed she’d probably die in it, but hopefully not anytime soon, although things were not looking so great right now with the Frankfurt debacle. If she didn’t pull off this job for Jenkins or got caught… she was probably either dead or as good as…

(This is more of a narrated walkthrough than a collection of actual fanfic stories. However, I worked very hard to do a playthrough in a way I thought made sense both in terms of V’s reputation building, mission order, and timeline.)
